It's a feel-good song that brings a tear . . . remembering the times, and wishing I'd made more of them . . .

This has always been one of my fave JT songs. He played at my college around 1974 (yikes!) and put on a fantastic solo show. He had backup singers recorded on a big old reel-to-reel tape recorder which he operated with a footswitch while he performed. One of the best shows I've ever been to.
JT truly does transcend genres and ideas of "cool". A friend of mine who is a strong and proud black woman told me that she and her cousin used to hang out together after school and sing along with James Taylor songs. THAT's cool. :=)

Haven't listened to a James Taylor song yet that didn't make me feel like all was right with the world due to his wonderful, smooth voice and touching lyrics. A true showman and master storyteller.....
He just speaks to me, his lyrics are so thoughtfull and full of emotion. can't go wrong on an easy afternoon kicking back with a little JT.

...perfect song because my daughter just moved there plus i really like jt
songs.
This is one of my favorite songs that he has done. I'd love to play the background piano parts with him!
The bass gives just the right accents on the rhythm and the vocal harmonies are great too. It sounds like he does the overdubbing himself...singing with himself over and over. Nice touch.
I did that on one of the pieces that I wrote.
Taylor,JT has transcended the folk, pop music industry. Lyrically he is superb and malodically ,there is no comparison. I grew up listening to him and know at 56 years old still feel his music is as refreshing and entertaining as ever.I hope he continues to tour .I have seen his cocerts in various parts of the country and I hope he continues to write and perform and record. Thanks JT Chris L.
I grew up on James Taylor through High School in the 70's and still after. The style of Taylors music is a part of the American Music culture, and rounds us out for a full range on music interest. Listen for a while, and Taylor too, will grow on you. Just hear what he is saying and understand life. Mike Carson, Sr.
