Who would be a poor man, a beggarman, a thief - if he had a rich man in his hand. And who would steal the candy from a laughing baby's mouth if he could take it from the money man. Cross-eyed Mary goes jumping in again. She signs no contract but she always plays the game.

One of my favorite Tull songs. Aqualung is a concept album, and every song on it is great. I used to have a book of transcriptions of Anderson's flute solos, and this was in it. One of the first things I learned to play on flute.
Who cares if she is cross-eyed giving the virgin birth.
You mean Mary had no idea where her virgin (non-jew)
birth would lead too? Robin hood of f*gs and pede files?

Cross eyed Ian. Divorces can be costly. His now way back ex-wife ended up with the rights to Aqualung. Still and will most likely always be Tull's golden goose. Just goes to show - don't bring paperwork into anything unless absolutely necessary! Bet he wishes he could shove his flute up her cooter!
Iron Maiden covered this in the early 80's, and it totally rocked. Haven't the slightest idea were radio got it, I've never found it.

This is a welcome classic but please play more songs from Jethro Tull's acoustic side in my "Family Mix," i.e. "Reasons For Waiting," "Jack In The Green," etc.
