Really don't mind if you sit this one out.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to see Jethro Tull w/200 people at Chatauqua Institution, NY. After a wonderful dinner on the lake, we stood under massive, ancient, oak trees surrounding the small ampetheatre and were blown away with Ian's talent/athle t i c gifts!
The pianist was just amazing! What a night

This seriously is a damn good jam man

I heard Ian in an interview saying the whole concept album at that time in music by bands had gotten silly. He figured he'd do this one all as a goof. Read the newspaper, you can't take it seriously. I love it! Great music and phenomenal musicianship . You really have to listen to the whole thing in one sitting and I mean both sides of the album.

This is my favorite rock album of all time. Tulls masterpiece it was. Released in 1972. Just after I came home from Vietnam so long ago. I love Sgt pepper who`s. Next, dark side zepplin. 4. Very long list of great rock but Ian put together a classic with a twist, written by a 12 year old kid and people believed it. Great plug. Ian thank you for three great albums in a row benefit squealing and of course thick as a brick 1. Taab 2. It was so so.

This is a great album .Seen Tull at least five times in Dallas /Ft.Worth.1) S t a n d Up is a classic.2)At the end of Passion play there was a phone on a stool and it started ringing and ringing then out pops Ian he answers it . Points it at the crowd and says ,"It's for you"!Awesome shows.

The lyrics are for the terrible radio edit, the piece played is side one of the vinyl release.

Well, the whole first side at least.
Saw live in '72 and Ian last year with
TAAB 2. My favorite rock composition of all time. Timeless.

Thank god pandora pays the whole song as opposed to the terrible radio edit. One of my all time favorites.

Top 10 of all time! Classic.

@sfangels1 Go something yourself with a rake before I'm forced to use harsh non Pandora friendly language. Nobody wants that kind of garbage on here.

Otherwise this is probably the song that I'm most thankful that Pandora turned me on to, I never knew that this song was longer (and better) than the 3 min interlude they like to play on the radio.

nothing gets me more pumped up than this song - Ian Anderson is my hero

Don't read this because it actually works. You will be kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of you life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However if you don't post this you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading so don't stop. This is so scary put this on at least 5 songs in 143 minutes. When done press f6 and your lover's name will come on the screen in big letters. This is so scary because it actually works!

What an amazing composition by JT. Hard to match by any rock group.

For those who just happen to subscribe to The St. Cleve Chronicle and have kept the Jan. 7th, 1972 issue I won't give away the secret to the crossword puzzle. However, I will say this. The most important story in that issue can be found on the top of the opposite page. It may be of some significance to those who take Thick As A Brick Seriously.
Report as inappropriate
To those of you who have the original vinyl album, Have you ever tried to do the crossword puzzle????

Legendary. Thanks for putting the whole album on. I remember a roommate of mine telling me about the entire track, which even AOR would not play back in the day. Heard it first on a long trip...great to have it here.

Biggles would connect with Brits, but not always with us Yanks. A character in Boys Own Adventure novels, Biggles was a pilot and adventurer who represented fine, conventional virtues broadly recognized by British society. Americans: think of Nancy Drew or the Hardy Brothers.

So, when Anderson asks where the hell is Biggles, it's like S & G asking where Joe Dimaggio has gone. Monty Python skits often satirize Biggles.

I've listened to this album 100s of times always with pleasure.

thank you pandora; this is one of the most memorable albums/songs from my wild days in the 70s; still have my original vinyl copy; will never stop loving tull!!

This song has so many attributes. Great to listen to it.

One of the greatest epic songs ever written. Ian Anderson calls himself an observer of human nature in it's natural habitat. This album long song describes how the hippies became the establishmen t . They exchanged straight backed suits and ties for slouching jeans and sneakers as the uniform of the day but kept the greed and oppression of their fathers.
Report as inappropriate
well, I believe the album was essentially presnted as a single song
