Someone saying how Jimi is burning his strat is sad, just doesn't get who Jimi was. Jimi was a show man and phenomenal talent for the 60's. Yes, Jimi did drugs and drank in excess, but his live performances were very lucid IMO. You simply don't perform the way he did in a drugged out haze. Jimi flaming up his ax is iconic and a testament to his creative way of being. While it is too bad that he did not live to make more music, I see him more as symbol of creativity than as a drug abuser.

When I was a kid, I thought "Hey Joe" was Jimi Hendrix' song. Turns out it is one of the most "covered" songs of the 60's and 70's. Even after hearing many 10's of covers of the song, I still think Jimi Hendrix covered the song better than anyone...
