Guido Neilsen also did the complete Scott Joplin. Evidently no longer in print but available used on Amazon.

Joe Lamb lived in Brooklyn on East 21st St
PS 206 is known as the Joseph Lamb School
I worked with Joe Lamb at Dommericks (?), a factoring firm on Madison Ave in the early 1950s. He was a bookkeeper.
His wife, who was known to us as Melie, was a baby sitter for us for several years.
Did someone call Joe Lamb the Chopin of Ragtime?

Ditto to all the other compliments. Where is he from?

Thank God for Pandora radio. Where else? Where else?
Yes, the performer should be depicted, and indicated as such, with a mention of J. Lamb as the composer; reading other listeners' comments de-confused me; I had another musician (whose last name is Lamb) in mind at first glance at the displayed info.
Well, whoever this is...Joeseph Lamb or not...I think he's FABULOUS!!! I can never get enough of this kind of music...I feel it way down to the core of my being. I'm so grateful Pandora has such a lot of it.
The most unique feature of Joe Lamb's ragtime is its rare eight-bar phrasing (most ragtime uses two-bar pharsing; Joplin often used four-bar), making pieces like "Top Liner" and "American Beauty" (aptly named) some of the most graceful pieces of ragtime.
It's Guido Neilsen, actually. The reason Pandora labeled it with the composer's name is because more people know Joe Lamb than Guido Neilsen. Too bad though... Neilsen also does the "Complete Works of James Scott" that Pandora also has on file.

They need to find a picture of Lamb... or at least Guido Neilsen!
Who is the pianist? I can assure you itis not Joseph Lamb, the composer. He was a fabulous composer, but was not a very good pianist, from the only crude recording that exists of his playing.
Some biographical info:Joseph F. Lamb is considered one of the best rag composers along with Scott Joplin and James Scott. He composed such pieces as "Sensation-- A Rag", "Ragtime Nightingale" , and "Top Liner Rag" in ragtime's heyday, and shortly before his death in 1960 wrote "The Alaskan Rag" and "Birdbrain Rag" and other rags not published between 1907-1919. He is the only white composer in the Big Three of ragtime, but his rags rank among those of Joplin and Scott.
Who is he?
