Jude Cole joined the British power pop band the Records in 1980, after their first album was released, and remained with the group for one album. After a few years, Cole then re-emerged with his own solo record, 1987's self-titled Jude Cole, which was a much slicker, mainstream-oriented affair than any of the Records' records. The album did have its charm, but it was unfortunately ignored. That was not the case with his second album, 1990's A View from 3rd Street, which had a bona fide hit single with the sweet, yearning "Baby, It's Tonight." Another single from the album hit the Top 40, as Cole enjoyed a surprise success. Although he wasn't able to repeat his success with the follow-up, it was another solid album of mainstream pop/rock, full of shiny hooks and sleek, memorable melodies. Cole later delved into production and other behind-the-scenes work, eventually opening the Ironworks label with actor Keifer Sutherland. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
Yeah! A View & Start the Car are both favorites of mine! Thanks to both Jude and Pandora!!

This record is my and a great friend of mine favorite records of all time. We have talked many times about if we had five records to have on that deserted island. this is the one that always goes without any argument. Prolly the most underrated singer/ song writer/ GUITARIST in the last 20. The s**t is timeless and my fav .
I agree with everyone who has posted here...I saw him live at two small venues in Dallas/FtWorth in the 90's and he is one of my all time favorites. I wish he was still recording...

I just so love Jude Cole... they need to be playing Start the car... my personal fav!!! ;)
I'd like to post a correction to Jude Cole's bio: His follow up release to A View From 3rd Street, Start the Car, was incredibly successful. I can't remember if it had any number 1 songs, but Start the Car had 3-5 songs off the release.
Nice to hear some other tunes of his but it would be nice if pandora played at least one song from his 1st solo L.P. Start the Car, would be nice.

I never will understand why Jude Cole wasn't widely recognized for his talent and tunes! I was introduced to him from a radio host back in '89 while interning at the station in college and just fell in love with his sound! I was always anxiously waiting for more from him! Listening to him again and again as I work - never get tired of him. I hope he knows that his music was WAY MISMEASURED!

Probably the best artist the rest of the country has never heard.

Sounds a lot like Hungry Eyes in the beginning, even the first phrase. Except this song is amazing and beautiful.

I went to High School with Jude. (U.T.H.S. East Molin Illinois). His garage band was called Silver Highway. He blew away the crowds at school dances..etc. He is truly an under-rated artist. So much better than most of the garbage that got more play time!
He's also a producer for the likes of bands such as Lifehouse.

Jude Cole has an incredible body of work that isn't accurately represented here. Please add Start the Car, his self-titled CD, and Falling Home. I've been a fan for over 20 years.

Chiming in here to agree. Jude is fantastic. Please add the rest of his albums... compilations.. cds... whatever they are called today. Beautiful voice and superb song craftsman!
I agree with April....Start the Car is my favorite. Every time I go out of town on vacation....I CRANK Start the Car! I recently lost my CD and am looking for another.
How come they don't even mention Start the Car here?
I agree I have "JUDE COLE RADIO" and need other releases...like "Start The Car", "I Don't Know Why I Act This Way", and "Falling Home". Jude has his own label now co-owner with buddy Keifer Sutherland. He does more production now.
I concur with "teamsevenproductions". Your stream and data base will be much better if you were to add both releases after this one. Namely, Start the Car & I Don't Know Why I Act This Way. Both were very well written, produced and performed albums. Keifer Sutherland even makes a cameo vocal appearance on a track called "My Name is Joe" From the I Don't Know Why I Act This Way release.

Please add "Start The Car" by Jude Cole. Thanx from the Texas Rockers
