I'm woven in a fantasy, I can't believe the things I see The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall And with each passing day I feel a little more like something dear was lost It rises now before me, a dark and silent barrier between

This song and any songs like it prove how much better the 70's were as far as music is concerned . A song like thisthat came out today would be ignored . .

Wheather or not this song has Christian influences(which I personaly think it does) it dosent really matter. Les's just shut up and enjoy the music.
Steve Walsh was not a born again...that is why he ultimately left the group. Livgren clearly wrote this about his experience but as such it is one of the greatest songs ever written. I am not Christian and it speaks to me and all the "walls" we each face in life. Spectacular.

IT is documented that Kansas were Born Again Christians. Just sayin.
Grow up Stonecutter. if you knew anything about music, you would know that songs and poetry almost always have meaning beyond the lyrics. Don't pretend that you know what he meant when he wrote this song. Great lyrics have great meaning to the listener. That meaning is not going to be the same for everyone. This is also my favorite Kansas song. I love how he captured the struggle that we all face within ourselves. I hadn't thought of the Christian side of this song. Thanks Michael.
Michael Macari, classic Christian delusional interpretation.
There is nothing explicitly mentioned in this song about Christianity or religiousity in general.
But, just like the rest of the brainwashed lot, EVERYTHING has to somehow relate to your cause. Very predictable behavior from a group with very few original ideas.

This is absolutely my favorite song of all time. This is an amazing telling of Kerry Livgren's story.
Kerry has glimpsed the Wall, and wondrously captured the paradox all humans face. In the end, we, like he and Steve choose faith and the God of Creation.
Kerry Livgren, at his best, writing about his spiritual crossroads.Whether to stay with secular music and all its trappings, or give it all up for his savior. It would take several more album offerings to solidify his choice, Christian rock and relative obscurity vs. fame and glory. makes one wonder if he would have reached more lost souls staying cloaked in more acceptable genre. In the end, when he is at the judgement, I'm sure he will reckon that he made the wiser choice.

It is, and always will be about faith. Rock on Kansas!
