I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity Dust in the wind All they are is dust in the wind

Love the orchestra on this live version of a timeless song. They are a great band both live and in the studio. Here is to their American progressive rock.
Kansas is such an awesome band. I only know two of their songs and I still love them.

This is not a pessimistic song. It's based in reality, not fantasy. It speaks of the Law of Impermanence. Nothing lasts forever. The sooner we accept this and let go of the things in our life, the sooner we can truly love and enjoy them. well, that's just what I think...
This song always reminds me of my dad that passed away last year and today would have been his birthday. I Love you dad and Happy Birthday, I miss you so much
Enjoy your time, it is fleeting. Man, my family finally finished selling my grandparent's house. I was there last week clearing out the last of the items. So many memories, and good ones, but it can still put me in a somber mood to reflect and remember.
I LOVE this version! All the violins are a nice addition!!!

This song has been a favorite of mine since I first it heard it in '77-'78. I agree that it's a bit 'pessimistic,' but I also think it's meant to make us think how short our time here on Earth is... and we should all live and love like there is no tomorrow... because we never will know...
I really don't like the way he sings this live. I assume his voice is deeper because he's older? Or is it a different singer? His voice is nasal and it sounds like he's overthinking the song...
