Love this song!!! It WaaaaaaY to slow thou... But y wuz it on my want u bak station? Honestly, I don't care!!!! It's a code, then it's a borken, hallelujah!!
I wa told this was played in Shrek 2, but I was like, 5 when it came out and I don't remember watching it. I wonder though, why did they play Hallelujah (which is a Christian song) in a non-Christian movie?
Hats this version. He completley ruined this part. "The fourth the fifth the minor fall" hats him. I didn't think you could make a great song bad but he proves that u can. Normally I'm boy hating but I actually hats this singer. Well..... hate is a strong word. I strongly dislike him with a firery passion.
I like the oringinal version of this...but this is okay I guess...(thumbs down)=

Saw kd lang do this in concert and was blown away. Have seen a lot of concerts, this was at Hill Aud. in Ann Arbor, and it was a literal show stopper. The audience simply would not let her continue without a standing O. This was not the obligatory ovation at the end of the concert to beg a couple more songs, it was a show stopper.
The Canadian Tenors sang Hallelujah during the Memorium at the Emmy's on Sunday night. It was beautifully done and very appropriate. This song has transcended its mere beginning by Cohen...considering...the Shrek movie to the Emmy's...

I don't care for this version at all. It is a great song, but I think it is best sung simply, without the bells and whistles. It sounds too American Idol-ish. In descending order of greatness, out of the versions I have heard are: (1) Buckley; (2) Cohen; (3) Wainwright; (4) everyone else.
