Estonian singer Kerli was born in Elva, a Soviet-occupied town with a population of 5,000, in 1987. As a teen, she dreamed of becoming a pop star and leaving her homeland, and studied singing, dancing, acting, and piano. In 2001, she was the runner-up in that year's Eurolaul, a televised competition that determines the song that will represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest; two years later, she competed in Sweden's Melodifestivalen, but was eliminated in the second semifinal round. She continued to perform and write songs, ultimately scoring an audition with L.A. Reid, who signed her to Island Def Jam in 2006. Kerli worked with producer, songwriter, and mixer David Maurice on an autobiographical set of songs, the first batch of which were released on the digital EP Kerli in 2007. Her debut album, Love Is Dead, arrived in summer 2008. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
I've loved Kerli's awesome music ever since I heard her song Walking On Air. Since then she's on the top of my favorite artists' list. With an amazing voice, beautiful music, and awesome style and creative personalty she stole my heart :)

Kerli just makes me smile every time I hear one of her songs. She knows how to bring joy to someone just by her song lyrics. I hope she continues to make even more amazing music.

@reyshow0123, She's currently working on her new album, potentially named Bubblegoth. It should be coming out soon. We've all been waiting for years now, but finally it's almost finished! Check ot some of her newer songs. There's some up on youtube.(:

Kerli is sch an inspiration to everyone. She's come a long way and really proved herself! I've loved this girl from the beginning none-the-less! I.L.U. Let us Moonchildren rise!
Yet another wonderful example of foreign countries making wonderful music.... now if only America's pop would catch on with what Kerli's doing... Would much rather listen to her on the radio than some of the crap they play.
I really love Tea Party and it reveals a lot of fun and I really want her doll collection, even though I have strange fear of dolls, but I cannot help it!! =D

I.LU. Moonchildren! She has actually released a few free songs along with the single Army of Love. When her album will come out I don't know, but I'm waaaiting... >_>
How can you be against immigration? She's fantastic, why would it matter where she's from? As scribner said, unless you're Native American, your ancestors were most definitely immigrants...
scribner283
why r u opposed to immigration? If you live in the USA, then ur ancestors were probably immigrators...????? Just wondering, not trying to start a fight. KERLI ROX! <3
(Letizia - you must be thinking about some Taliban-run country.) "Walking on Air" video is awesome, and Kerli is totally talented and gorgeous and unique. But she needs a new manager!!! She deserves a whole lot more exposure than she's getting. I don't get it, how can someone like Katy Perry be all over the place, and Kerli isn't?!?!

The description says she was in a Soviet-occupied town and studied singing, etc., but I thought the Soviet Union didn't allow female musicians?
Edit: Nevermind. I was told they were only male, but after some research, I guess I was falsely informed.
