Klaxons

The London-based Klaxons feature the combined talents of Jamie Reynolds, James Righton, and Simon Taylor. Despite being a rock band at the core, Klaxons are heavily influenced by dance music, particularly the late-'80s/early-'90s U.K. rave movement. (Reynolds has even dubbed his band "nu-rave" to further emphasize the inspiration.) By the time Klaxons released their second low-key single, they had become a favorite of publications such as NME and wound up signing with Polydor Records. As the group set to work on its first album, the Modular label issued a brief singles compilation entitled Xan Valleys in late 2006. Myths of the Near Future, the full-length debut, was then released in early 2007 on both sides of the Atlantic. That same year, Myths of the Near Future won the coveted Mercury Prize. In 2008, Klaxons began work recording new songs. Purportedly, the band's label Polydor felt the songs were too experimental and rejected the album. Subsequently, Klaxons did re-record the album with producer Ross Robinson. In 2010, Klaxons released the material as its sophomore effort Surfing the Void. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi

So do they still make music. The info about the band confused me. :/
Coolest album covers ever
saw klaxons many many years ago at a little club called studio b in Brooklyn, right as gravitas rainbow was coming out and they were one of the greatest love bands I've ever seen! miss those years! ('04-'07)

is best that klaxons don't get big in america. i think they will change if they get mainstream in america.
What the hell does being american have to do with anything? Klaxons are great. End of story.
howarddb
why the hell is this lame-a** band playing on my country radio station???

I'm Mexican and i love the KLAXONS!!!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! . . . . . . . . . . b u t i live in america though so does that make me a dumb american?
I wish Americans were dumb enough to produce such atrocities as Simon Cowell and Rammstein. Too bad we're not good enough at being creative or recognizing art in music. I don't understand how the Klaxons are not repetitive though. Probably because I'm American. If I move to Germany, then I'll understand.. .
i agree with cynide and mark!!!! they r amazing!!! and americans dont get it!!! although i admit i listen to alot of main stream they r an amazing none main stream band!! they need to play them more they would probly b picked up fast like that stupid MIA person that sounds like she sorta copied them..... lol and i am a southern state american.... . and most ppl down here just listen to the rihanna and all that crap that is sooooooo cliche...... (if u guys like klaxons try the foals, there song 'c

Cyanide is lame. When we Americans get our economy back in Q2 of 2010, we'll be cool enough again to actually purchase the obscure music we hear when we go shopping at Urban Outfitters. That's also when Cyanide can go back to being another citizen of some back-bench country that teaches broad generalizati o n studies in their public schools. Buy American, Go USA.
Chalk another one up for the Americans who enjoy the Klaxons. Try not to get hasty with your generalizati o n s :p

Ive loved the Klaxons for years... Im American...

I think the Klaxons are brill, and I'm American.
i agree with Mark Wright on that. Americans don't really get art in the form of music. Mainstream is to redundant and repetitive, only wanting fame and money, not concentratin g on the beauty of the sound and the simplicity of it all. the Klaxons are great and are one ov my fav bands! ^^
M.I.A. made it big in America because of Paper Planes. We'll have to see if the mainstream accepts the rest of her talent.
Strange that MIA hit it big in America but Klaxons didn't. I guess Klaxons are more artistic and interesting, something most Americans don't get.
Atlantis to Interzone = best Klaxons song ever.
"Golden Skans" = best.
I like their Techno/House work as opposed to there Brit pop stuff. Its just more fun to listen to and unique. The other stuff sounds just like any mediocre band out of the U.K.
i love electro
Not realy my style, but it's what I grew up with, so there is something keeping me around and not giving it a thumbs down. hummm ...
they're catchy, i love simon taylor..hawt
The best thing to listen to if you're painting or drawing...fr o m my persepcitve anyway, because it inspires some surreal abstract things. Oh jeez, these guys are so addicting... < 3
Klaxons walk the fine line between annoying and catchy. Luckily they've mastered being catchy
hahahah so true ndzick718... very good band too <3 them mucho
I love when someone calls another person stupid and misspells a word as simple as "you're"...
one of the most amazing bands i've heard
Awesome is the perfect word to describe Klaxons.
Cause your stupid, This band is awesome, and I'm out.
Why can't I generate a Klaxons Station?
