Kon & Amir
Kon & Amir are DJs known as beat-diggers. Their penchant and passion for excavating record bins to unearth obscure music has been a hobby since the late '80s, recently documented by the On Track series. Since its first release in 1997, the duo has released a total of eight albums -- six On Track installments, The Cleaning, and The Kings of Diggin' featuring DJ Muro from Japan. In 2007, Kon & Amir accepted a five-record deal with BBE/Rapster to begin the Off Track series, which builds off the successes of their On Track compilations. Whereas the On Track series featured short snippets of samples and breaks, the Off Track double disc included full versions of seldom-heard dance music and private-press jazz selections from the '70s. ~ Vincent Thomas, Rovi
