Founded in Stockton, California, the long-running regional Mexican group La Migra have a bounty of hits to their credit and multiple best-of compilations in their back catalog. Though the group's history dates as far back as the 1970s, there were extensive lineup changes over the years. Two of the most beloved group members were Sacramento Gonzales and Miguel Ramírez (aka El Manix) -- in fact, the group moniker La Migra was derived from the latter's name: MIGuel RAmírez. Ramírez went missing in June 2011, leading to great concern among his family, friends, and fellow musicians; his body was discovered two weeks later in a Mexico City morgue. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
