There was a time… I dreamed a dream in time gone by when hope was high and life worth living. I dreamed that love would never die. I dreamed that God would be forgiving. Poor Fantine. My heart yearns for her. I can't even imagine her sorrow. Anne Hathaway did a spectacular job in her role, and it was nice to see a familiar face. How crazy is it that she can still sing while holding back sobs? That's amazing.

Saw the 2012 film twice,it's one if the best stage to film movies I've seen in a long time. Thank you.
I cried when the song lovely ladies decided to pop in. It was gross. I couldn't take it in. *barf* anyway I love this song. If u saw it in Seattle, comment saying Seattle rocks
In Les Miserables, this was the part where I cried the most I bawled like a baby! That and when she died and Val Jean tool the kid... I'm afraid I won't survive the movie.......
Susan Boyle's original performance was acceptable, but her recorded version is horrendous. This song is supposed to be sad, the tone dejected and forlorn. The heavenly choir in her version is completely out of place and ruins the whole thing. This version is good; not outstanding, but good.

I can't find a cast list to this album - who is the woman singing I Dreamed a Dream? Her voice is beautiful!
You're kidding, right? Have you read the lyrics to this song? No wonder it's called Les Miserables...! It may be well sung, but you can't escape the words and meaning....
This music so mesmerized my 7-yr-old daughter that she sang along when she saw it at the Palace Theatre. In the end she graduated the University of Sterling with an honors degree in media production.

This song is so beautiful that if its sung well it doesn't matter who sings it!
