Originally formed in 1999, Philadelphia's A Life Once Lost joined a rapidly growing fraternity of metalcore bands (Converge, God Forbid, Killswitch Engage, to name but a few) spread across the U.S. Eastern Seaboard -- over the next few years, these groups helped define the so-called New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Featuring vocalist Robert Meadows, guitarists Robert Carpenter and Douglas Sabolick, bassist Nick Frasca, and drummer Justin Graves, their releases include 2000's Open Your Mouth for the Speechless... LP, and 2003's A Great Artist LP and The Fourth Plague: Flies EP. Those last two albums not only snagged the guys tours with Throwdown, Breather Resist, Dead to Fall, and more, but also the attention of Nora's Carl Severson. He eventually signed the band to Ferret Music, which then released the LP Hunter in 2005. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
HAHA! Watched these guys get their arses kicked in Jacksonville, FL! LESSON: DON'T TALK TRASH ABOUT THE CITY YOU'RE PLAYING IN, WHILE ON STAGE! It was all kinds of awesome!
Damn! Cant comment albums but lol I wanted to comment on Iron Gag that i f**ked to that album on repeat for at least 2 hours before she made me change it to The Big Dirty by ETID haha then that one played for another hour before we were interupted xD goodtimes badtimes
they r not chinks there American and they started metalcore now just metal if you don't know that your a f n idiot loser that knows nothing bout metal or core
Because metalcore is a bastardization of true metal. Call'em whatever you want, but not Metal because its not. I bet you get off on that Deathcore s**t too, f**kin emo. I can also tell by your stations and likes that youre just another clueless s**t brain that thinks its heavy so it must be metal.
lol what? poseurs, you mean? and i require you to qualify that statement, metacom_of_9. exactly what/who are they trying to be? i offer this: you are an idiot.
All hail ALOL!! These guys are seriously cool as f u c k and down to earth. Easily one of my favorite bands out there. Iron Gag is definitely less Meshuggah-esque n much more groove oriented. They are f u c kin badass live... i've been to 9 of their shows and everyone was worth it and will see them the next time they are around!!

Lamb of God? Really? Iron Gag is great and less Meshuggah-y. No more faux Alan Holdsworth solos.
They sound really good, if you liek these guys, check out Himsa. Their name is Sanskrit for "violence" and they are amazingly brutal, it's a shame they broke up.

the iron gag is kinda s**tty. Check out Hunter. Thats their best album for sure. Also check out The Handshake Murders - Usurper. Those guys are brutal. And they picked up where Hunter left off.

They're great. I loved em before I could even appreciate how good they were, haha.
