Limbonic Art

Norwegian extreme metal project Limbonic Art was formed in 1993 by vocalist/guitarist Daemon; though originally a four-piece, Daemon soon dismissed his collaborators, teaming with synth player Morfeus to record the 1996 debut Moon in the Scorpio. The follow-up, 1997's In Abhorrence Dementia, was supported by a tour opening for Emperor, and a year later Limbonic Art issued its third LP, Epitome of Illusions. Ad Noctum--Dynasty of Death appeared in 1999, followed a few year later by the savage Ultimate Death Worship. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

One of the better symphonic black groups from Scandinavia

Reminds me of Profanum from Poland, but better.
One of the few bands that actually has the mystical qualities identified in the short description
Better than newer Dimmu Borgir, but not quite up on Summoning, Enslaved, or Emperor's level.

not really my thing Im more of a straight up black metal guy but very well played and rather interesting. all in all worth a listen
@the troll: Keyboards are for atmosphere and they are awesome. Anyone who knows Limbonic Art and has heard Phantasmagor i a knows it's crap because it's the only album without the genius keyboarding of Morfeus. So you're wrong again, troll. Now go home.
Good black metal, is hard to find ... but so worth the search!
Good black metal beats just about everything.
Very interesting artist! black metal gets a bad rep but they come out with some very interesting music.
Funny how many black metal fans never heard of Limbonic art. They're missing out!!!
I'm always amazed at how interesting these guys are. They do wonderful things with keyboards to provide a cosmic, atmospheric sound.
Definitely, although I don't mind sitting down and listening to them for an hour or two straight.
Limbonic Art tends to work better for me intermittent l y mixed in rather than listening to an album from start to finish. Not sure why exactly.
I haven't listened to Limbo in a quite a while. Too busy listening to Abigail Williams and the Black Dahlia Murder...(no t that the latter is black metal, but whatever.)
Agreed! Polyethylene rock will be crushed under the heel of Limbonic Art's boot.

To Holmgard, and Beyond!!!
LOL. Behind the banner of TRVE and KVLT, we shall burn a path of destruction that will leave plastic metal quaking on their knees!
Let us proclaim war on McDonaldized bands and their record companies! Set to attack Godsmack an hour past last light!
Alright.. How about the destruction of the corporate music industry?
No, just the execution of GS's guitars, drums, bass, and microphone.
Good point there..

Don't forget it should also have Cannibal Corpse and Dying playing in the fighters when they are in battle.

Also as the first act of our new society shall we have the public execution of all the disney stars and godsmack?
Well, I'm a pretty firm believer in the sayings "Peace through superior firepower" and "Let him who desires peace prepare for war," so it's not that ironic in my book.

P.S.: The Imperial Legions play Limbonic Art over their intercoms when they're not shooting rebel scum.
This is pretty ironic though haha.

Talking about Death Stars and world peace haha
LOL. I love how I walk in on a discussion about Star Wars and Death Stars. Keep up the good work, guys.
Anyhow, these guys are amazing!!
Yes, crush all opposition! The Empire will be proud!
Or just have really good spies to ferret out the location of the hidden rebel base!
LOL. That's what the super laser is for!
True.. But then we gotta worry about smugglers and their secret hiding spots and undetectable construction zones
Well of course, and since our Death Star would be functional before theirs anyways, we could just shoot theirs mid-construc t i o n . Problem solved!
That's why you ban construction of such things and take away all the resources to build them
LOL. Simple, We'll just string the corridor with lots of anti-aircraf t wires. The only way to destroy our Death Star will be to shoot it with another death star...or to fly a super star destroyer into it...
I was thinking more of diplomacy lol.. But eh why not? Death Star and world peace lol..

But you have to have some security on it.. After all what if rebels try to shoot that convenient little waste chute that has a HUGE corridor leading right to it
LOL. Yes, world peace throught the superior firepower of the Death Star! Kaiton, my good sir, you are a genius!
Or how about world peace? lol
Screw it. Let's just build the Death Star. It'll be simpler.

LOL.
I thought of tethering, but I can't think of any way to do so which would be secure from possible attack.

Perhaps if we generate a star wars style energy shield from a satellite we can protect the support mechanisms in the case of an earthquake. Now that's a solid redundant system!
Well, you'd need a magnet on steroids for each of the 4 faces of the building, then another even bigger one for the bottom of the structure, because it would be the main load-bearing one.

LOL. Your building survives a nuclear blast, only to be destroyed, because an earthquake knocks out you levitation system, sending it tumbling down.

Perhaps a tethering system to hold it in place on the 2D ground plane...
True, it would be more like an airbag I suppose. The structure wouldn't experience localized shock, it would be a uniform shock of pressure throughout the entire face of the building. If you could mag-lev in 3-dim, it would be a very interesting experiment. We would need some redundant back-up systems in place in the event of mag-lev failure of course.
That's true...I guess it does make sense that shock could be transmitted through a magnetic field, but wouldn't a mag field be more forgiving than say...a concrete foundation?
The system itself would be subject to shock waves however and through the magnetic field, be transmitted to the structure. Also I would be concerned about the anchoring of the structure. How would you keep it in one place? You would need mag-lev in 3 dimensions, or tether the structure in strategic places to prevent lateral movement. And of course, that would be a shock concern as well.
Like a mag-lev system. The shockwave from an earthquake (or nuke) would pass through the air underneath the building, rather than through the building's foundation. Of course you'd need some seriously beefy electro-magn e t s and a formidable power source. That actually would probably be a pretty profitable invention if someone figured out a way to do it efficiently.
Interesting notion of suspending in air. What do you have in mind there?
...Problem with natural barriers is that then the structure will have to resist the shockwave multiple times, because it'll bounce off the mountains. Happened in Hiroshima. None of these problems are that big of an issue, as long as our funding is unlimited. Yeah, liquid shock-absorb i n g system is definitely a must...Heck, why not use the attraction/o p p o s i t i o n traits of magnets, and just suspend the whole dang thing in the air, with no ground contact?
Other structurally superior forms include a pyramid, or inverted cone. They work the best for managing massive winds while allowing a good vertical dimension. The seismic loading would be the most difficult to account for, maybe install a massive liquid shock absorbing system and use very resilient structure materials like titanium. Bury the foundation 100+ ft in the ground. Perhaps we can find a location with natural barriers such as mountains and canyons to help shield the forces as well.
Well, aside from intense heat (the sort that can turn people into shadows), there would probably be a significant seismic shock, high-pressur e winds, nuclear radiation, and probably some other unpleasant things. It would have to have some SERIOUSLY strong reinforcemen t , very thick walls, radiation shielding, and some sort of structurally superior form...like a dome, although that makes the height requirement for a skyscraper kind of difficult to obtain...
Willow's feeble taunts wouldn't hurt a fly. That is a tall order tho. I wonder what forces we would be talking about from a shock wave from a nuclear blast. Obviously that would be the worst case scenario and would control the design.
Engineering is kind of interesting. . . T o o much math involved in big multi-millio n dollar projects though...Wha t if we designed a skyscraper capable of withstanding a nuclear blast, five airplane crashes, and all of Willow's feeble taunts without falling down? Then we can put an imposing facade on it, worthy of mention in one of Limbonic Art's songs. That would be the most epic structure on the face of the earth!
I enjoy the engineering involved, don't care much about the structure itself tho.
Skyscrapers aren't much my thing...
Love shack would definitely do the trick! Next we should rebuild the Trade Center ... in Iran.
I'm thinking "Rock Lobster" by the B52s, or better yet, "Love Shack", on repeat.
