an angular melody
a strongly dramatic aesthetic
a compelling intensity
wildly complex rhythm
an acclaimed work
a well-known composer
a Modern style
a large orchestra
non-pitched percussion
tonal harmony
minor key tonality
a fast and bright tempo
These are just a few of the hundreds of attributes cataloged for this track by the Music Genome Project.
I believe this is probably one of the first recordings of the Planets, so the retro sound quality is at least justified. However, I'd like to have a more modern recording available as well.

This is not for two pianos as you state in your credits, it is the symphonic version -- you should get this stuff straight!!!
We played Jupiter in my high school concert band. I have always loved this series every since. And my astronomy teacher would always play this music before and after class. It set for a great mood. And ya, William Goldman clearly listened to Holst when preparing for Star Wars.
