Mark-Almond

Comments

One of the great, overlooked bands, to come out of John Mayall's band. Johnny Almond on sax or flute is a revelation. Jon Mark has just the right breathy whispery voice for these tunes and his guitar playing in the early days was a mellow treat. Wish you had more early stuff Mark-Almond I or later stuff like To The Heart. But what's here is lovely.

Ahhh...so nice..such great talent 60s and 70s the best music:-))
Trade Winds is the most amzing song byr Mark-Almond. I 1st heard it on an Orlando Fl FM station...WO R J in the late 1970's...too k me forever to find it again.
I lost my vinyl collection in a fire years back and Mark-Almond was impossible to replace. I had all their mainstream recordings and a few bootlegs and was upset and disappointed that they were no longer sold in the US and the ones that were were tres expensive. Thank Christ for Pandora, I can once again listen to Jon Mark and Johnny Almond!
Johnny almond was a great guy and a great artist I miss him
I remeber these guys so well. Wonder who would be a good mix with them? Any ideas, let me know please.
I married the "Girl on table 4"!

The DJs used to play Mark-Almond in the pre-dawn hours...just as I was driving home from college parties. They really didn't break in between tracks very often so I never did know the artist...unt i l Pandora played The City one day. The memories it brought back...

To the heart was my fav album, with 'new york state of mind' but is no longer available :(
Don't forget "The City"
Greatly under-apprec i a t e d band from the '70s. Saw them in concert a couple of times. Pandora's "Similar Artists" is way-off mark.

John Mark and Johnny Almond are a great colaboration . One of the high points of the various John Mayall groups. Nice sax and woodwind work.
