No band in the last 20 years has even come close to changing the musical landscape like metallica achievef in 80s and90s date i call them a reimcarnation of zeppelin
This has got to be one of the most excellent written tune ever! doesn't get over played on any radio stations, great for long distance highway driving...anything...CRANK IT UP!
This is one of those songs that proves that Metallica is a legendary band, even with the s**t of St. Anger and Death Magnetic. Also the Rodirigo y Gabbriella version of this song is pretty badass too. Check that s**t out.
it's maybe difficult to follow first few times out?? with that said it is one of Metallica's more complex songs ever. Cliff Burton's Lead Bass dominates the song with many multiple bass over lays that have created what "Liquid" below calles "cheesy"..it's far from cheesy...what you think is 6 string guitar is actually 4 string bass. We had never heard anything like this in 1986 and still havn't today... This is a master peice! keep listening!

It's awfully repetitive to be one of the best instrumental songs ever, don't you think? It basically riffs on 2 chords for the first 3 minutes, and then turns into a slow blues/rock ballad in the middle. It's a nice, melodic song with a cool solo at the end, sure - but the best Metallica song? Pssh. It doesn't even end... it does the cheesy volume fade thing to finish out.
this is my FAVORITE Metallica song. Just incredible. Cliff was and will ever be the god.

Have they done anything like this since "Justice" ? I bought a copy of "The Black Album" when it came out, and promptly threw it out the window of my bug. Have they done any quality instrumentals since then ?
