After chance collaborations over the years, folk-rock supergroup Middle Brother, briefly known as MG&V, officially came together in 2009. A trio of frontmen consisting of Deer Ticks John McCauley, Dawes Taylor Goldsmith, and Delta Spirits Matthew Vasquez, Middle Brother have a sound that's dreamy and plaintive, pulling together aspects of the bandmembers' other work to create a unified sonic vision. Once the three songwriters realized how much they enjoyed being pushed by each other, things came together quickly for Middle Brother. In early 2010, they went into the studio in Nashville to record their debut, and then made their first stage appearance at SXSW just a few months later. Middle Brother, their self-titled debut, was released in 2011 by Partisan Records. ~ Gregory Heaney, Rovi
MOF is mother of all folk super groups! Middle brother is the step dad that jumped into the picture later, equally important, but something left missing..
Middle Brother is def hot, John McCauley is the real show stopper, escpecially live, but not nearly as thorough as MOF or multi dimensional, the blend of r&b and country is unparrelled. Conor is r Dylan, as Jim is r Elvis.

This is honestly one "indie super group" that is better than its sundry parts. I'm a huge Deertick fan, and I love Delta Spirit and Dawes too, but this is an amazing album which pulls together the best part of each group. PS waaaaaay better than Monsters of Folk's debut
