Inspired by gothic rock and other obscure sounds, Midnight Syndicate creates darkly blended compositions, that also display their pop/rock style influences. The band sustains its dramatic musical scenarios not only by way of their common musical inspirations, ranging from Black Sabbath to King Diamond, but also by a shared wish of portraying the darkest edges of existence. It was in 1991, in Cleveland, OH, that Edward Douglas decided to form Syndicate. However, it was only six years later that Syndicate's first disc, the self-titled Midnight Syndicate, hit the record stores, in 1997. In 1998 and following the later addition of Gavin Goszka, the Cleveland duo released its second full-length, Born of the Night. Following two years of production and rehearsing, the two-team delivered it's third album, Realm of Shadows, in 2000. In 2001, the group emerged with its fourth album, Gates of Delirium. This particular album was a huge success on MP3.com, where it held six spots in their Top 20 positions during Halloween. The next year, Symphonies From the Crypt was released towards the end of the summer. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, Rovi
@elara.... I have heard about Shipwreck and would love to experience it. Is it an annual thing? An artist that I really enjoy, also created music specifically for Shipwreck at the Queen Mary. Her name is Jamie Valentine and she has a band called Cindergarden. Check them out, if you haven't already. Dark. Beautiful. Haunting. :)

I use this to scare kids on Halloween. Okay and my teenage gothic daughter listens to it a lot.

I wouldn't be surprise if they did. I swear the I heard at least one of their songs when I worked Shipwreck at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, so I wouldn't be shocked if the other Halloween attractions used them, too.

I read somewhere that their music has been used at Universal Studios during their Halloween Horror Nights events.
Met Ed this weekend at ConNooga (although I have met him at GenCon a few times, this was our first real conversation). Great guy, great sounds. I sing along to it with oohs and ahhs while working from my computer at home! I love the harmonious interplay of chords, building to a melody that is haunting and lovely.

What about Video games? They can be found on Symphony of the Night.

Midnight Syndicate has many albums, all of which need to be on here! Great ambiance music for any dark listening, or halloween, or film (they have done soundtracks too) Love this stuff!!!
One of the best choices for dark atmospheres. Adding this to a haunted house at Halloween would make for an incredible time. Love their use of sound effects; would also do great in horror movies. WE NEED MORE ALBUMS!
