Columbus, Ohio's Mount Carmel pound out extensive, riff-heavy jams that draw substantially from the blues-based rock of Cream, Blue Cheer, and Black Sabbath. As a tight power trio with feet firmly rooted in the past, it seemed like a stretch when the bandmembers announced they would pair with a label built on the modern "shitgaze" phenomenon of slack lo-fi artists like Times New Viking and Psychedelic Horseshit.
