Buddy Caine, Buzz Sherman, Bill Wade, Earl Johnson and Terry Juric founded Moxy in the mid-'70s. The hard rock band released two albums in both 1976 and 1977 (Moxy, Moxy II, Take It or Leave It and Ridin' High). After Buzz Sherman died in a motorcycle accident, the band recorded A Tribute to Buzz Sherman in 1984. ~ John Bush, Rovi

I actually had a buddy in college who was flown to Canada to audition after Sherman's death. Needless to say, he did not get the gig. Pandora should include the Ridin' High lp.
they certainly had it and their music rocks on forever

Tommy Bolin was more session player and never toured with Moxy.

Yet another example of the uncanny amount of talent that flows through Canada!! You won't find a better trio of albums than this band's first three releases. Things kinda dropped off after Buzz departed the earth despite the addition of Mike Rynoski on Under the Lights. He, of course, later shortened his name to Mike Reno and fronted another Canadian hit-maker, Loverboy.
Not one thing mentioned about the late great Tommy Bolin as an early band member either. Bad bio for an awesome band.

Moxy is one of the 2 greatest 'unknown' rock bands ever IMO. Riot being the other.

RIDIN' HIGH lives forever!!!! One of the best, most rockn', kick you in the teeth albums made in the 70's. Get it. Jam to it. And enjoy the celebration of guitar work, killer hard driven'rhythms, and Buzz Shearman kick as* vocals. This album is the moment of conception for this band, when they put it all together.

Moxy's first two albums set them far and above so many acts of the mid to late 70s who were making a living as posers. This band was the real deal. Play their first album loud and proud! 'Sail On Sail Away' alone should put them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. God Bless Buzz Shearman!
Moxy is one of the finest basically unknown bands ever. Their first album is so freakin great, I have never gotten tired of listening to it. Not to mention Moxy II, Ridin' High, etc. What else can I say?-(except to say again-they are great!!!!)
This has to be about the shittest review I've ever read on this site! John Bush, you should be ashamed of yourself... There's MUCH more to Moxy than 3 F'N SENTENCES!? C'MON!!
