Knoxville, TN, alt-metal act 10 Years made their major-label debut with 2005's The Autumn Effect, an effort much beholden to the likes of Tool and Staind, and the album scored a big radio hit with the single "Wasteland." Reportedly recorded in a fractious intra-band environment (hence the title), Division sounds like the work of a band that carefully and thoroughly deconstructed its previous hit and attempted to replicate it several more times for the follow-up. Division is a smooth, radio-friendly record featuring new producer Rick Parashar's glossy layers of instruments and vocals. Occasional moments also suggest that the bandmembers now consider themselves "artists": the coda of "Picture Perfect (In Your Eyes)" is nearly as long as the body of the song itself, and features a spoken word poem read by one of the album's female backing vocalists. Division may well have the intended effect of prolonging the band's chart life, at least temporarily. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
well done I kinda miss the harder sound like from the first if its not broke than dont fix it new producer rick suxs and Im from K-town they r great live ....
Haven't listened to the Autumn effect, but I guess if it's better than this I have to listen. Didn't agree with the review, I was suprised; this is the first outright negative review I've seen on Pandora.
part of me wants to agree with some of the review, despite the fact that I enjoy the album. the autumn effect gave me slightly higher hopes for this album before i bought it. i actually still listen to the autumn effect more...
they actually aren't that good. First album pretty okay, this album just manufactured rock-pop. With that sad i like to listen tot the album, But than again i like to listen to everything. the good bad and ugly. in order to better criticize someone elses hard work, while in the meantime doing othing to better myslef. (did that sound like that review) :)
i know i just want to strangle him, who cares how many other people help with this record its fabulous in eerie sounds and melody rhythm with hard rock.
