Bringing on the Weather
About This Album
Jackopierce's 1994 major-label debut Bringing on the Weather is the group's first foray into a full-band, acoustic rock sound, and it is their best collection of songs. Produced by T Bone Burnett (Sam Phillips, Elvis Costello, and O Brother, Where Art Thou), Bringing on the Weather adds percussion and bass, as well as chamberlain, mandolin, and violin, to the previously acoustic guitar duo with surprising results. The songs are the most unified and complex in the group's career. Standout tracks include "Jacob," "Capable Girl," and "Anderson's Luck." Bringing on the Weather reached an artists height that Jackopierce was unable to top before their breakup. Early or long-time fans may prefer the acoustic sounds the duo made while a local Texas college act, but this album is the best introduction to the group and their most accessible album. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
