This two-LP set is strictly for collectors for, in addition to six competent but not overly original compositions by the obscure fluegelhornist Wilbur Harden, there are three lengthy alternate takes. The previously unreleased title cut (which is heard in two versions) has no relation to John Coltrane's "Countdown" from his Giant Steps album. The music, featuring John Coltrane on tenor, Harden and a fine rhythm section (pianist Tommy Flanagan, bassist Doug Watkins and drummer Louis Hayes), is reasonably enjoyable but not all that memorable; just another hard-bop jam session from the 1950s. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
