This Cd by Alceu Valença brings the singer/composer in excellent shape. The 2000 trend of new-forró in Brazil, for one side brought a terrible electronic pop commercial dilution of the exciting northeastern groves, but, on the other hand, it made possible faithful acoustic renditions with traditional instrumental/choir (and some fuzzed-out guitars) such as this fully danceable and enjoyable album.
