Teen mania has hit the country in the last year, especially with books, movies, and pop music all dedicated to the market that has billions in disposable income. Now it has officially swept Nashville off of its feet with the likes of LeAnn Rimes, Lila McCann, and newcomer Alecia Elliott. A teenager sheerly by her age, Alecia Elliott sings of subjects way beyond her years. I'm Diggin' It appeals to a much older audience (although the album's packaging is very hip) with songs like "I Don't Understand," which is about girls living on the street, crack, and a dad leaving his three kids; and "Some Say I'm Running," which was previously recorded by the incomparable (and very adult) Martina McBride on 1997's Evolution. It's no wonder her years befuddle her youth, having previously taken the stage with many country greats like Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee, Pam Tillis Collin Raye, and Joe Diffie.
