About This Album
Greatest Hits is not, alas, the antidote to the botched Nothing Safe: Best of the Box compilation, but rather a lower-priced, ten-track sampler of Alice in Chains' career. The songs are mostly excellent and well-chosen, but unfortunately, there are simply too few of them. Greatest Hits will serve the needs of casual fans who just want ten of Alice in Chains' best songs on one disc without shelling out too much money, but there are too many other good moments in the group's back catalog to make this a good buy for anyone else. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

The new album is ok. Haven't fell in love with it yet, only gone through twice. Lead vocals, a lot of Jerry Cantrell, are good- hard to compare to Layne Stayley, he was in a league of his own. As a dear fan of AIC, I would reccomend the new album, nice to hear new stuff.

I don't think this band ever played a bad note in the 1990s. My tastes are very diverse and I love everything by these guys. Forget this comp and just get all of their albums - don't forget the EPs Sap and Jar of Flies. Any opinions on the new singer and new album....?

all these songs are great, it's just, as it says, there ain't enough of em to call it a worhtwhile compilation. just buy all the other albums and the box set and there's youre friggin' compilation!

5 of these songs are decent.
To even say this is their best is horrifying. Perhaps the title is more correct though, these may be hits, but definately not their best. |

AIC seems like an awesome band, not very familiar with any of their work. really dig tunes off the Dirt cd..pandora introduced me to AIC. Rock on!!! |

good for u yellowrock. first heard aic as a child, and didnt really know who they were but recognized the sound when i would hear their songs. only got more and more into them as the years went by. aic is a f**king amazing band! im glad that theyre putting out new stuff with duvall tho it is bittersweet cuz layne is no longer with them (rip) but the guys have too much talent to waste. cantrell kicks a**!

At least they could've put Over Now on here. I really hope they come out with a "Better Best of" sometime soon.

Horrible.
Simply horrible compilation. Pretty much all of the songs that I skip over on the original CDs ALL TOGETHER ON ONE DISC I WILL NEVER BUY! Awesome. |

what a crap playlist for AIC greatest hits. every one of those songs has already been overplayed by the radio 10 years ago.
