This was the orchestra's beginning of a long association with Inca Records, whose later purchase by the Fania label helped the band achieved fame for the next three decades. The Arsenio Rodriguez title tune, "Paño de Lágrimas," and "Franqueza" received ample radio coverage in the late '60s. Hacheros Pa' un Palo features 23-year-old Papo Lucca on piano/arrangements and Luigi Texidor and 21-year-old Tito Gomez on vocals. An early mainstream success for the band. ~ José A.
