Dons of the darkness Bad Company flaunt their dexterity with Shot Down on Safari, the production act's first American full-length. It kicks off with "Mo' Fire," a brilliant ragga-stepper remix featuring a dread vocal from MC Navigator (it was originally released by his Rawhill Camp) and Bad Company raising the energy level with virtually each hit from the MC. "Wednesday" looks back to the days of rave and hardcore with a pitched-up diva and some delicious synth work, while "The Hornet" boasts dried-out effects and all the tech madness any jungle fan would expect from the best crew still in business. Dan Stein and company even emerge unscathed from a (relatively) campy lounge workout, "Dr. Shevago."
