In early 2004, Epitaph released remastered versions of four Bad Religion LPs, as well as a tour film dating from 1989. Suffer was always one of the band's strongest albums, marking the reunion of its original lineup, tighter playing, and the blazing erudition of cuts like "Land of Competition," "You Are (The Government)," and "What Can You Do?" The remastering process rights the faults of the original analog-to-digital transfer, amplifying the grit instead of applying unneeded 21st century gloss. The album also rings true aesthetically, especially in light of the factional muddle the punk and hardcore scenes find themselves in today. Suffer drives forward at a consistent, breakneck speed, the band's no-frills chording supporting Greg Graffin's still vital cautionary wordsmithing; it's not flashy, nor is it slick, but it gets the job done. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide
When will people see that Green Day is pop? not pop- punk, POP!!! I hate how there is "pop- Punk", there is no such thing. its an oxymoron. Pop is conforming, punk is not. They can't coexist.
Green day may be classified as pop-punk predecessor of self-loathing, woe-is-me, sped-up Emo bands such as Plain White T's, or Scary Kids Scaring Kids. BEcause after Dookie, they pregressively lost their edge with each new album until they were know on NOW albums. NOW is not punk. Anyone who questions that is also NOT punk, and no amount of unecessary profanities will convince me otherwise. Green Day can choke on the fake-punk sedative they swallow back in the late 90's as far as I'm concern
Bad Religion is the s**t. Thank them for being the ones to revive punk they were the ones. think im full of s**t look it up. This bad is not just about f**k the gov its way more than just that listen to a lil something with them deep a** penetrating lyrics and you will hear some s**t that will piss your pants
Uhhh, Green Day is not punk, or at least it's not Bad Religion punk. Green Day is nowhere as amazing as Bad Religion. Green Day was better as a garage pop rock band, before they got all political(but I'm not gonna waste space talking about them, go to the Offspring page for my opinion of Green Day). This is one of BR's best albums, and yeah, the cover art is amazing!
hey tvboy F**K YOU GREEN DAY is a Real Punk band you wouldn't know real punk if it smacked you in the face so get the dick out of your a** and learn something about punk music before you comment again. that goes double for you atfstl05
No ratings? This is one of their best albums. So consistant, so carefree. I would love to rub this in the face of a Green Day or Fall Out Boy fan to show them how REAL punk sounds. They kinda suck now, though...
