Bang Tango
Ready To Go
About This Album
As any faithful MTV viewer of the late '80s/early '90s can attest, there was certainly a glut of glam metal bands vying for airtime during this era. While a handful of big hair metal outfits followed Poison and Cinderella up the charts, quite a few scored a moderate hit or two and then fell off the face of the earth. Bang Tango can definitely be included in the latter category -- but while most of their peers completely packed it in, the group (in many different lineup configurations) continued to release albums, including 2004's Ready to Go. With singer Joe Lesté the only original bandmember left in attendance by this point, Bang Tango continued to follow their original musical path -- 15 years after the release of their debut. Lesté sounds like he's certainly under the influence of Brian Johnson on the album-opening "Ready to Go," and you knew it was only a matter of time until a power ballad reared its head, as "Rainy Day" gets the nod this time around. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
