Souvenirs
About This Album
Souvenirs focuses on the early career of singer B.J. Thomas with 18 cuts recorded for the Pacemaker and Scepter labels. Along with several cover versions of songs made popular by Tom Jones, Hank Williams, Wilson Pickett, and Clyde McPhatter, this set includes his first Top Ten chart entry, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," from 1966. Souvenirs is actually a reissue of Earliest Hits & Great Covers, originally issued on the Edsel label, minus the cuts "Miller's Cave," "I Just Got to Forget You," "You're the One," "A Fallen Star," "Luckiest Man in the World," and "Didn't It Rain," and with the addition of "Pretty Country Girl." ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
