This volume contains songs created by Charly García from 1972 to 1987. In that period he was part of key bands like Sui Generis, La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros, and Serú Girán. There's at least one song from those bands, but it won't give you the idea of their sound. The material is mainly focused in his first -- and best -- period as a solo act. So you can find huge compositions like "No Voy en Tren," "Cerca de la Revolución," "Yendo de la Cama al Living," "Demoliendo Hoteles," and "No Me Dejan Salir." Unfortunately this era is so full of great songs that this CD doesn't glean as many of the scattered gems from his Interdisc period as one might hope. García is very much an album-oriented artist, but if you want some of his best songs around the house, though, this is a well-chosen album. ~ Iván Adaime, All Music Guide
