Sobre Todas As Forcas
About This Album
Cidade Negra makes another fun album filled with their trademark pop sound on Sobre Todas as Forcas. With virtually every song acting as an up-tempo fun fest, this ultimately comes off as a pretty fluffy recording. But despite the lack of anything truly deep being involved, this is at least an entertaining album. Every song has the same bouncing reggae feel, with the same passionate-yet-reserved voice that many artists like this use. Unfortunately, this is also a very forgettable album that only really sticks out when a guest rapper makes an appearance. That is not very often, leaving long spaces where nothing happens but cheery reggae music. "Minha Irma" is the notable exception, although it really only takes a dark tone without really changing much. Fans of the genre might enjoy this, but otherwise this is an easily avoidable album of Brazilian reggae/pop. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
