Country Teasers label their sound as "pastoral -- not rustic, " but the distinction doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference on this record -- its tracks sport a country drawl and an incredibly loose roughness, but the band unwisely elects to ignore any emotional effect in favor of a painful irony (song titles like "B**ches' F**k-Off" and "Drove a Truck" should sum up nicely). When the band goes completely over-the-top with their rural constructions, it's almost amusing -- but for the most part, the album tends to be rather irritating. ~ Nitsuh Abebe, All Music Guide
