Not my favorite, but if they had put out a clone of Under the Table or Crash then people would probably complain that they didn't have anything else to offer. So good for them for trying something different! LOVE the new album!!
I love this band so much. The lyrics hit home run to a lot of life matters on every album and every song has a really in depth story to tell. Change in a group is important and that is why I say the style in this album has a good mix of the DMB we all know with a twist of new and experimental sounds. God Bless those still recovering from the loss of a dear friend that will be truely missed. I was watching live at Folsom Field the other day and his sound was wonderful and it will never be the sam
Not my favorite album but I wouldn' exactly call it a sell out album. I think it will add to the growth of the band. Some of these songs are awesom live like "Hunger" and "Bayou" Then you have introspective songs like "Out of my Hands" and "Old Dirt Hill". Those are really well written songs. I think what this album was was the DMB graduating to another level the have yet to perfect. With the tragic lose of Leroi I wonder how their next album will sound. It comes out JUNE 2nd People!!!!!!
definitely a change of pace for DMB. I kind of miss the jam sessions that took up a lot of their older stuff. But its got some of everything, definitely a good listen
The stand up album cover has my favorite rendition of the fire dancer. if i found that sticker, i would put it on my car, my mom's car, my dog's house and i would tatoo it on my arse.
