Back when death metal was heavy, brutal, crushing, but also had some type of musicianship to it, before cannibal corpse and the blast beat destroyed the genre, I'm gonna say its a landmark LP, because like Metallica's Kill Em All to thrash. Death werent the first band to do death metal, but were very much its pioneers and this record was like the goblet (haha catch the joke) to anybody in the following, And for that matter any death album is a masterpiece because of Chuck, thank you

I guess that about sums it up legion, I do agree that Chuck's guitar work is awesome. Now you have a 2nd opinion, a benchmark lp? That's stretching it a bit, but it is worth a listen to the uneducated. It's too bad Chuck passed away, he would still be making killer albums.
