Chicken Eye
About This Album
On his debut full-length, ChickenEye, DeeJay Punk-Roc introduces his original dance-rich sound. The songs reflect Punk-Roc's specialties -- dance/electronic, funk, jazz, and hip-hop, with a production that jumps from retro to current in the blink of an eye. While it was meant to be played on the dancefloor, ChickenEye succeeds on the strength of its songwriting; you don't have to be a dance guru to appreciate the irresistible beats and electronic sounds. Punk-Roc's first-ever single, "My Beatbox," is featured, and the other tracks are often just as enjoyable -- "Far Out," "No Meaning," and "The World Is My Ashtray" are all tasty dance ditties. By touching upon so many musical styles, DeeJay Punk-Roc turns in an impressive debut. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
