The jury may still be out on Adrenalize, but with the band's misfortunes (guitarist Steve Clark died of a drug overdose), they can be forgiven for slipping a bit after the mega-success of Hysteria. That's not to dismiss Adrenalize, however, which still has a heaping helping of Leppard's patented Brit-pop crash-and-burn fusion. ~ Tom Graves, All Music Guide

This album is just fine by me. I'm trying to rebuild my cd collection since I lost all of mine in a divorce-in-p r o c e s s . This is definitely going to be in the new collection.

This is a great album! Underrated by the "alternative " music,
I just think that the album have 3 mistakes that do not allowed to be at the same level as Pyromania and Hysteria. 1) 10 songs it is just not enough, actually there is only 9 new songs (because Tear it down was released in 89). I was 9 when this album comes out but if I was older enough I had been angry with them for taking 5 years and make only 9 songs. 2) Issued in the wrong time: If this album had been issued in 1989 or 1990 |

when Leppard were the kings of mainstream hard rock, for sure it had been another blockbuster.
(This was also a mistake for the Slang album, in my opinion). 3) Didn’t make the enough and the impossible to keep Steve Clark alive. Of course there were some situations like mutt out of the album, copycat bands and Leppard only focus in US and UK market and left apart other places which bands like Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Metallica and GnR handled well. |
