I thought this album was quite good, actually. It gets more repeat listens than Scenes from a Memory. I liked SHerinian's keyboard playing much better than anything Jordan Rudess has put down with DT. I just can't get into them as much with Rudess on board...too carnival sounding at times.

This is a good album, but for DT good isn't good enough, it pales in comparison to all their albums, especially "Images and Words", "Metropolis Pt. 2", "Awake", and "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance". Overall it's a slight let down, except for Hollow Years, which rules (especially live)

Glad to see this album is getting the appreciation it deserves. many people have just written it off, but, as stated before, there's some fantastic material here like Lines in the Sand, Hell's Kitchen, and Trial of Tears

I have too hear od Kings-X. As a matter of fact Dug and the boys opened for Dream Theatre here in Los Angeles and they absolutely ROCKED! "Falling Into Infinity" is the best Dream Theatre release yet.

The guest vocalist on "Lines In The Sand" is Doug Pinnick, Bass player, songwriter, and co-lead vocalist for the band "Kings X" (which is a great under-rated, under-known prog metal band....alth o u g h if your a DT fan it wouldent suprise me if you have heard of them) Hope that answer is satisfactory for you :)

This album started as a disappointme n t for me, but there are some real gems in here. Peruvian Skies, Hollow Years, and Trial of Tears are all excellent songs. Hell's Kitchen is a very strong instrumental piece, with Lines in the Sand as a nice compliment.

Sure, New Millenium, You Not Me, and Burning My Soul might not have that "DT" feel you've grown to love, but the album as a whole is better than the sum of its parts.

The forgotten, 'commercial' Dream Theater album. This album improves with repeated listening experiences, so don't dismiss it outright before giving it a shot; there are many quality tracks on here that are worth the time and effort to discover (Peruvian Skies and Trial of Tears are amongst the band's best efforts).
