About This Album
In the 10 years between the release of Hog Heaven and this comeback record, Elvin Bishop was represented in record stores by a Best Of on Capricorn and an album released only in Germany (Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby? on Line Records). Then he signed with Bruce Iglauer's independent blues label Alligator and made this record, which, naturally, emphasizes his more blues-oriented guitar playing, although without sacrificing his country boy identity. Dr. John tickles some of the ivories, and harmonica player Norton Buffalo (of Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen) also guests. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
