The Perfect Kellulight
About This Album
Building from the songcraft of the Beatles, the jangle-pop of REM and the post-alternative pop of Radiohead, Flick turns in an intriguing debut with The Perfect Kellulight. There's not much sonic experimentation on the album, but the group attempts to create a batch of well-written songs with interesting aural textures. Occasionally, they reach their goal, as on the glammy "Freezer Burnt," but just as often their ideas don't quite gel. Still, Flick has turned in a promising debut that hints that the band could develop into something distinctive given time. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
