Best Of Gladys Knight And The Pips
About This Album
The Right Stuff's The Best of Gladys Knight & the Pips is a nice, brief ten-track summary of the group's first four albums with Buddah, showcasing such hit singles as "Where Peaceful Waters Flow," "Midnight Train to Georgia," "I've Got to Use My Imagination," "Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me," "On and On," "I Feel a Song (In My Heart)" and "The Way We Were / Try to Remember," plus the album tracks "Make Yours a Happy Home," "The Going Ups and the Coming Downs" and "I Can See Clearly Now." Although it's missing a couple of minor hits, it's a solid, concise collection that's ideal for fans of Knight's smooth mid-'70s soul, even though it isn't as complete or thorough as Rhino's Soul Survivors. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
