On Ball, Iron Butterfly began to expand its sound, attempting to write more concisely. On Metamorphosis, the group continued its musical explorations, adding a layered production to its sound. So true Evan.They were who they were and if I was in a procuring mood I'd order up Metamorphis ahead of a lot of other favs. I can see leaving out Free Flight n Slower than Guns but that leaves seven solids.

This was Iron Butterfly's lost classic--it holds up all the way through, I always loved this record ever since I first bought the lp when it came out. Pandora doesn't give it the credit it deserves, other than to slag Iron Butterfly for perceived inadequacies .

Why did they pick those tracks to allow to play on here? Butterfly Bleu and Easy Rider are the best 2 yet they aren't allowed to play!

There's no In-A-Gadda-D a - V i d a , but how could you expect that ! These songs are different than most peoples perception of this band. The are interesting but never mega-hits.
