Probably those Seventies effects pedals. A lot of the great fusion albums from back then sound dirty. Have to live with it.

I don't understand what Michael Campbell is talking about - it sounds fine to me, and I can hear Jaco distinctly all the way through the track.

Jaco's sound is washed out - the mixing engineer should have been shot for this.
