Dirty Sweet EP
About This Album
The Aussie garage rock outfit Jet takes a page out of the AC/DC book of cool on its debut EP, Dirty Sweet. The campy foursome delivers white-hot riffs with a Mick Jagger-like swagger while defying the posh N.Y.C. rock scene. Jet keeps it real with raw energy; there's nothing kitschy about it and that's what makes Dirty Sweet an impressive debut. The country-rock drawl of "Move On" highlights the band's Rolling Stones moment, while "Take It or Leave It" is far more spiky and nasty with its wild glam rock style. The fervor doesn't get much of a chance to stop, for the rowdy romp of Dirty Sweet is designed to intoxicate the listener. The sultry basslines of "Cold Hard B**ch" are just enough to do the job, but the EP is merely a sip of what's yet to come from this ambitious group. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
