I caught them last summer with Arnel Pineda. They were outstanding! I understand that everyone including myself misses Steve Perry so dearly. But a great band did what they had to do to keep their music alive. They'd be hard pressed to find someone else who can deliver with such power, passion, honesty & reverence the way Arnel does. The new album is great & really took me back to 1981-83 Journey. With or without Steve Perry I’ll never stop Believing.
Arnel Pineda is an adequate replacement for Steve Perry...but, he'll never match Perry's command of the notes. I have listened to thousands of singers, male and female, and none come close to Steve Perry's finishing the notes completely from start to finish. Many imitate, none duplicate.
I JUST LOVE YOUR LEAD SINGER ARNEL PINEDA. OH MY GOD I HAD BOUGHT YOU ALBUM W/ THE CONCERT "THE REVELATION" NEVER GET WATCHING IT OVER AND OVER,.AND PLAYING THE CD. HE IS GREAT . THE WHOLE IS WONDERFUL. HOPE YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER CONCERT W/ MR ARNER. THX YOU.. RESSIE OF SACRAMENTO CA.
we saw the first US concert with arnel. he imitated steve's singing impeccably. he'll mature in stage presence under the tutoring of the band. if steve can't make it, then thank you to neil and jonathan for making it possible to see journey with new music. heart and cheap trick were on the venue that night, was amazing. hope ann and nancy do their own gig, i'd pay big bucks to hear them longer than the time they had. ann - love ya.
last i heard steve couldn't tour due to health. i can't imagine them being in such disagreement , if that's it, that the money that would be made in a reuniting would deter them in that case. the album is feels like the early-mid 80's incarnation, a great one. i saw journey on the escape tour in houston, speechless and steve knew how to lead the band and crowd. i miss him.
Excellent album, outstanding vocals. Yes, he sounds a bit like Steve Perry, but there has NEVER been an artist before with the incredible vocal quality Steve had - nor will there be again (unless he has been cloned...?). His training, his timing, his tone were perfect and his notes were always dead-on perfect. But kudos to Journey for keeping the band going...despite losing the band's 'heart and soul'...
