Greatest Hits collects 12 tracks recorded during the Kingston Trio's tenure with Capitol Records in the '50s and '60s, including the original versions of "Tom Dooley," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" "A Worried Man," and "Scotch and Soda." This collection is a good bargain for the budget-conscious. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide
I remember this album well - I played it, at the ranch, in Big Horn, WY, through the entire summer of 1959 - outdoor speakers on the ranch house blaring away 'It Takes a Worried Man' along with the rest of that album's great tunes. I still love 'Scotch and Soda' as one of my all time favorite Kingston Trio hits. What a terrific sound that orginal group put out! God. They were fabulous.
Saw them at Encanto Park Bandshell, outdoors, Phx AZ. Summer
of '59. Tom Dooley had just hit the streets and they were just
3 college kids from southern California trying to make a buck
during the summer months while school was out.
